Many tree types not dropping saplings

Expected Behavior

Any type of tree I cut down should give saplings

Actual Behavior

Many trees don't seem to give any saplings at all. I can get Maclura and Cypress, as well as Rubber Fig. I haven't gotten a single Whitebeam or Alder sapling from a tree. The bush forms of them seem to give saplings just fine, only the full-size trees do not.

Steps to Reproduce

Cut down a whole bunch of trees. Observe that you don't get saplings for some trees.
