How can I increase the horizontal scrolling speed?

I have several ListViews and RichLogs with huge text content. How can I speed up the horizontal scrolling speed of those components?

My prototype works as expected. But is there a cleaner implementation possible?
(e.g. via Bindings, CSS or something else)
