Current situation 1 (dynamic-nation-colors: true):
Current situation 2 (dynamic-nation-colors: false):
We can get the best of both worlds if we use the nation color for the border, and the default display otherwise.
Currently, when a nation color is applied, the fill is changed, and shop/arena/wilds/embassy plots lose their unique colorations, becoming instead slightly more opaque than the majority of the fill.
Maps are best when they effectively communicate information.
Having an option to use the nation color ONLY for the border would allow for the utility of the default display mode, while still showing nation affiliation.
Alternatively: Continue to use nation fill colors, and display shop/arena/wilds/embassy distinctly if their respective options are enabled. No new option required.
After learning in #5143 that there are actually two configurable mapcolors (one for towns, one for nations); I have decided to close this issue in favor of a new one.
