- A personal python project to create a bot that places bet using Betfair API and webscraped data from your favorite bookmaker website. It is automated to run your betting strategy on a free-tier cloud VM (uses AWS EC2 instance but can be on any cloud platform).
- Download the source code
- Create a virtual environment using virtualenv
$ sudo apt install python3-virtualenv
$ virtualenv venv
- Follow this link to create a self-signed certificate for Betfair: https://docs.developer.betfair.com/display/1smk3cen4v3lu3yomq5qye0ni/Non-Interactive+%28bot%29+login
- Include the generated certificate in a folder /betfairBot/certs/ .
- Install all those modules in the requirements.txt
$ pip3 install -r requirements.txt
- Install the chromedriver (the same version as your current chromium/google chrome browser version)
- Download the chromedriver from the offcial website here. https://chromedriver.chromium.org/
- Move the chromedriver to file in PATH
$ sudo mv ~/path/to/chromedriver /usr/local/bin/
$ sudo chmod +x /usr/local/bin/chromedriver
- To automate it on cloud, clone this repo on an AWS ec2 VM instance and create a cron job using
$crontab -eand the provided cronjob.sh to run the script.

- Your own betfair live API token. Create a file /betfairBot/certs/passwords.py and add the following sensitive data in it.
