yeah, same here, all demos crashes the client/brings it back to desktop.

I was the one who originally created the issue report and it actually fixed the problem like alfred-valve wrote. The demos didn't crash the game anymore but they were broken, however they fixed the problem later and I was able to view demos without problems.

Just wanted to say that alfred-valve actually fixed the problem for me. :p

BTW, I just tried to watch the demos that I watched before and they are still working for me, maybe I should try to watch the demos that you guys posted above.

Also, could you please tell, will these fixes only be available to beta subscribers (or) it will be available as public version (update for all)?

maybe you could make older demos work that dont anymore due to the update you released in like 2009 that changed the protocol version and broke all demos before it.

But when i use viewdemo.

Also, using the demo links above with the current CS 1.6 client under windows I do not experience a crash. Can people please post links to dems that currently cause an in-game crash for them and the command line they are starting with.

viewdemo it doesn't work anymore every time i use this command the cs 1.6 crashes
