[HL] Barney's mouth doesn't work right on the HD model #1612

I just checked the MDL with Jed's Half-Life Model Viewer, the mouth's bone is wrong and it causes this issue. Possible fix : Use the "barney.mdl" from "gearbox_hd" (Opposing Force) or "bshift_hd" (Blue-Shift) |
I think those models have a different set of animations for those games... How did this issue with the bone even happen to start with? |
For how the issue happened, I don't know. You can use Opposing Force's HD Barney without any problem, it has the same set of animations in the same order as the HL version. Opposing Force's 2 specific animations are placed in the end so it won't conflict with HL. |
Thank you, hopefully Valve will take note of this and fix it officially. Really strange because the Barney in the original HD pack before the Steampipe update didn't have this problem, it probably happened in the Steampipe conversion process. |
[HL25] HD Barney's mouth still broken. Issue transferred from #3577. Ever since the HD packs inception, there has been a bug in only base half-life, in which the model for HD barney's mouth is broken. The model itself, If I'm correct, Is inconsistent to the one used in the expansions. An easy fix would be to backport the OP4/BS model. (screenshot demonstrated from a mod that fixes said bug below.) |
Not sure if this is the correct place to report this kind of thing, but there is a noticeable bug with Barney's mouth on the HD model for Half Life
