RetroDuke is a recompiled open-source version of the Duke Nukem 3D engine specifically designed for MS-DOS. This project focuses on preserving the source code and documentation without introducing significant modifications or enhancements. By utilizing RetroDuke, you can enjoy the classic Duke Nukem 3D gameplay on MS-DOS compatible systems, reliving the nostalgic moments of this iconic first-person shooter.
- MS-DOS compatible system
- Sufficient hardware specifications to run Duke Nukem 3D
- Obtain the RetroDuke Engine package from the DNC website or repository.
- Extract the contents of the package to a directory of your choice:
- Where the duke3d data is located
- Simply copy duke3d.grp in the folder instead.
- Open a DOSBox or MS-DOS console.
- Navigate to the directory where you extracted RetroDuke.
- Execute the main executable file, typically named "retroduke.exe".
RetroDuke utilizes the same control scheme as the original Duke Nukem 3D for MS-DOS. Please refer to the original Duke Nukem 3D documentation for detailed control instructions.
