FYI: My pull request for pdfbox 3 got automatically closed, after I had to "rebase" my fork (syncing it). Just let me know, if I should create a new pull request. One warning, though: Apache FOP uses the old pdfbox and there is no newer version, so this might be a deal breaker. Since we are not using the CLI, we just exclude FOP.
