Hi Andrey,

I installed Version 35 (Build 35) on Android 7 on an LG G5 2 days ago from the F-droid repository.

I started 1 download but at some time or other it became Paused and I could not Resume it.

Yesterday, I started a second download and it was functioning correctly until I paused it after which I again could not reume the download.

When I attempt to Resume them, I receive the message you can see in the 1st attached image. However, the Internet Connection is fine as I can access other Internet resources.

I can connect to the emule-security.org server, ED2K Connection Status is On and Searches can be performed.

Internal Storage was being used when I initiated the downloads.

Whilst the second download was executing, I installed an unused MicroSD card to which I was going to transfer the large files. It was automatically formatted as Portable Storage which I have since learnt is the normal process for phones which do not support the formatting of cards as Internal Storage. This did not interrupt the second download.

On inspecting the MicroSD card with a File Manager, I was surprised to discover that it contained Directories with the same date as when I inserted it but, as I mentioned in the previous paragraph, this must have been a result of the formatting.

Does Android also automatically create Directories for active apps? One of the Directories was "document:///content://com.android.externalstorage.documents/tree/3064-3238%253A?/Android/data/org.dkf.jmule". Under that Directory is 1 Directory named "files" which contains an empty "external" Directory.

Is it standard behaviour for Android to continue to create Directories for newly opened apps on a MicroSD card?

Internal Storage contains the following Directory:

/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/org.dkf.jmule

It also contains 1 Directory named "files" which contains an empty "external" Directory.

In the following Directory there are 2 files which are for the uncompleted Downloads. See the 2nd screen capture I took.

/storage/emulated/0/Download

Thanks, Michael.

Hi Michael, regarding downloading continue after pause - please check the application has active connection to a server. Without the activate server connection the application can not find peers and resume downloading.

Hi Andrey,

How do I check if the application has an active connection to a server?

As I already mentioned I am able to connect to the emule-security.org server which is the server I connected to when I did the search.

On the servers page the lightning sign must be black and if you search you must have results

The Lightning symbol is Black and I can do searches but I can not resume paused downloads.

Ok, it seems server connection is ok. You can stop/start core on settings page. And try to see what happens on transfers page - if you see downloading speed changes from zero to some numbers it means the application tries to connect peers.

Is the "core" that you refer to the same as the "ED2K Status"?

If so, setting it to OFF and then to ON does not solve the problem. The Download Speed remains at 0.00 b/s.

As you can see from the Screenshots in my original post, I can successfully start downloads but if they become Paused, I can not Resume them.

I've checked pause/resume - if server connection is available the transfer is starting to search peers and continue downloading. Maybe no peers at the moment when you resumed the transfer.

Season's Greetings Andrey,

I have been doing some more analysis and testing.

Firstly, when you say you have checked Pause/Resume, does the Resume option change back to Pause? For me it doesn't.

Should the Resume option change back to Pause if there are no peers available?

As part of my further testing I did the following.

I removed a Transfer with the "Remove file" option Unchecked.

I searched for the same file and reinitiated the Download. Immediately, the Download speed changed from 0.00 b/s to a high speed in the 100s of KB/s. Eventually, the download continued from where it had previously finished when it was Paused.

If I again Paused the transfer, I could not Resume it. Once again I had to remove the Transfer with the "Remove file" option Unchecked and reinitiate it as I described above.

So, since then, I have not Paused the Transfer and I have noticed the download speed changing intermittenly from 0.00 b/s to various speeds in the KB/s spectrum.

So, the only conclusion I can make from these observations is that using Pause is somehow preventing Resume from reinitiating the Transfer and searching for Peers.

Thanks- Michael.
