Disk-Arbitrator can be in three states:

  • Deactivated
  • Activated; new disks mounted read-only
  • Activated; new disks not mounted

Problem: this is only shown as icon color, not in the menu, and if you don't know the colors there's no clue what they mean.

It would be great if the menu showed a clear representation of the current state. Suggestion: have a separate section in the menu (bounded by spacer lines) with three items as listed above. The currently active state will have a checkmark next to it; choosing either of the other two items will change the state and move the checkmark.

Alternate menu item names:

  • Mount disks normally
  • Mount disks read-only
  • Do not mount disks

While the menu is being changed, it would be nice if the icon was retina compatible :)
