This is something that would make total sense, and the first thing I wanted to do.

What's the point of it being official if nobody (be it from Github or external) can work on it ?

I wrote eine/tip for that. See, for example, https://github.com/ghdl/ghdl/blob/master/.github/workflows/push.yml#L159-L171. It's a Python script using PyGitHub. So, you can ignore 'tip' and use your own Python script. That's done in msys2/msys2-autobuild.
