Please consider developing a feature that activates sending your typed follow-up prompt as soon as ChatGPT completes its current response.
Issue: When interacting with ChatGPT, users may prepare their next question while awaiting a response. However, they cannot send this follow-up until ChatGPT finishes, for fear of missing out on the context of the ongoing response. Canceling the response prematurely can lead to missing valuable information or context for subsequent interactions.
Current Solutions: Browser extensions like ChatGPT Notifier gh repo
and
ChatGPT Notification partially address this by alerting the user when ChatGPT has finished replying, allowing them to return to the chat window to send their follow-up.
Proposed Enhancement: An improved feature would automatically trigger the 'enter' key to send the follow-up prompt as soon as ChatGPT's reply is complete. This capability, as demonstrated by the aforementioned extensions, shows that it is possible for the browser to detect when ChatGPT's output is ready. Implementing a command such as cmd+enter to send the follow-up when ChatGPT finishes could streamline the conversation flow.
