FreeClimber

What is it?

FreeClimber is a Python package for performing background subtraction on a video, followed by particle detection of higher contrast points and quantification of their position and vertical velocity using a local linear regression. Designed initially to detect Drosophila (fruit fly) motion in a negative geotaxis (climbing) assay with videos taken from a Raspberry Pi, DSLR, EVF cameras.
