Powermenu shows a box with numbers instead of glyph

i downloaded the Jetbrains font from this repo and applied it in type-5 powermenu style-3.rasi(which im using for powermenu) . when i start rofi powermenu the text is displayed in jetbrains font but the glyphs are not shown. im assuming the fonts present in this git repo were patched specifically to display these glyphs but its still not working

What worked for me is to install the JetBrainsMono font of NerdFonts directly on the Nerd Fonts repo https://github.com/ryanoasis/nerd-fonts#option-3-install-script
