Aim

Interactive crime mapping. An interactive map. Users can filter by crime.

Crimes will be mapped at an LSOA level. Users can cycle through different crime and years.

Functions break down

  1. Function to get data. A generic function to get data from the source. Function will be used to get recent and historical data.

  2. A function to preprocess the data. Combine recent and historical data.

  3. A function to clean the data after aggregation. Handle missing values.

  4. A function to aggregate data into yearly.

  5. A function to select specific crime of data. Needs to be used for major and minor.

  6. A function to make a plot of the aggregated yearly data.

  7. A function to make a timeseries plot of the crime data. Time series of monthly data and yearly data

  8. Crime rate prediction?
