In Firefox 12 for me, the game runs ok when it first starts, but rapidly stops working.

The following error begins to appear on the console after a while:

[17:24:54.036] e is undefined @ http://www.adityaravishankar.com/projects/games/command-and-conquer/cnc-0.5.min.js:11

After this lots of glitches appear, and the above error is continously happening:

  • Troops get killed very rapidly by invisible enemies
  • Corpses do not disappear
  • The shroud (fog of war) is not revealed by troops exploring
  • Minigunner firing animation remains when the troops have stopped firing, or even died

This happens in Firefox 12 on Windows 7 for me.

To be clear: It works ok on Chrome on the same machine, but under FF12, I get this happening after a short time.

UPDATE:

This appears to be related to the CTRL+1 etc, group assignment hotkeys.

If I don't use CTRL+1, everything works fine and I can complete the first level.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. Start the game
  2. Select some troops
  3. Press ctrl+1
  4. Wait

Game rapidly becomes unplayable, lots of things break and the above error message appears constantly.

Will look into this...

So far, most of the testing has been on MacOS... Will start testing on Win7
Firefox/Chrome to see if I can replicate this behavior...

Firefox is known right now to not support the game very well at this moment anyways, currently I've noticed the colors and such not working for awhile, but chrome works just fine.

Also it doesn't matter win/mac/linux they all are going to treat the game the same way, it's browser dependent.

The game works fine on Firefox for MacOS but shows some bugs in the
Windows version ....

Even Google Chrome for Windows showed bugs that Google Chrome for MacOS
didn't.

There are definitely differences in the browser implementations across
operating systems....

Weird, the only differences i've ever noticed is fonts, and maybe the settings.
