Debugging in VS Code with mGBA

I'm currently trying to get a debugger working with VS Code and mGBA, but am having a hard time finding anything instructional online. Is there any information that can be provided on how to set this up to work with agb, or does anyone have any links to resources I might not have noticed?

I got it working, but it wasn't satisfactory enough to add to the template yet. VSCode has some really weird ways of configuring it...

Ah I see. I'll play around with trying to get that working based on the example you have there.

I've copied the workflow and adapted it to my project, but the debugger seems to do nothing at all. The game crashes and there are no breakpoints being caught, or the panic itself.

Anything I'm overlooking? I'm having an overflow which is driving me crazy, and I would like to have at least some trace...

EDIT:

I've got it working, the mGBA emulator has a button that reads: "Enter debugging". There's no automatic way?
