sharing tags

can someone tell me how to share tags? I have a common dropbox folder with images shared between two computers.

Am I to understand:

Import Tags = writing the tags on GUI to metadata

Export Tags = updating tags from metadata

I dont see any proper documentation explaining these functions, nor more generally the concept of tags <> metadata.

I would love to find somewhere an explanation of how the lockfile appears/disappears depending on the state of the app (if open lockfile appears).

Enfin, I have two computers and will not use them simultaneously.

How exactly does one share tag metadata between two devices. Might be risky due to conflicts in dropbox, but I am ok with that.

Would really appreciate any info anyone can share to enlighten me
