Feature Request: Add ability to add subgroups in Timeline

Hello,

I have a feature request for the ability to add subgroups in the timeline view. The parent groups should also be collapsible. This is something we may implement ourselves, but it would be nice if it's built in. +1 for subgroups. I have hacked it in quickly myself in the quickfeatures branch for a demo I had to give but it would be a great addition to timeline!

Could we move this discussion to #325? I think these things are exactly the same, except for the collapsibility. We'll start with subgroups, collapsibility is something we can't promise at the moment.
