Problem: Image generation via OpenAI needs a payed subscription as far as I know, so it's not feasible for me.
Have you thought about an integration for Stable Diffusion? It can be run locally, there seems to be some way to interface with it and it can be used 100% offline, which is nice for internal networks. It could also integrate with stable horde für full crowd sourcing as well.

The stable diffusion is not entirely free as well. You can check the pricing here. The project is totally open source, and is built without any expenses. Somewhere down the line I can def work on it.
This might be a misunderstanding. Stable Diffusion can be self-hosted locally for free with a variety of user interfaces, the most famous one being Automatic1111. That one offers a simple API to use, I'm confident that other interfaces will expose similar ones.
