UART Transmitter and Receptor

This example shows how to:

  • Use UART asynchronous transmition to send a random number every 5 seconds.
  • Use UART asynchronous reception to read the buffer every 3 seconds.

Note: This examples might not obtain an actual random number, you can read more about in the docs.

Note: This is mainly based on ESP-IDF UART Asynchronous Example.

How to use example

Configure the project

You can change the values from TXD_PIN, RXD_PIN, and TX_UART in main.c to the indicate the pins to use and the UART to use.

Hardware Required

You need a 2 ESP32 basic Devboard, this was tested with 2 NodeMCU.

Pin Assignment:

You must connect ESP32-Transmitter's Tx to ESP32-Receptor's Rx.

ESP32-Transmitter ESP32-Receptor DESCRIPTION
GPIO4 GPIO4 UART TX
GPIO5 GPIO5 UART RX
