Tailwind lets you conditionally apply utility classes in different states using variant modifiers. For example, use hover:spin-in-90
to only apply the spin-in-90
utility on hover.
<div class="animate-bounce spin-in-45 hover:spin-in-90">
<!-- ... -->
</div>
For a complete list of all available state modifiers, check out the Hover, Focus, & Other States documentation.
You can also use variant modifiers to target media queries like responsive breakpoints, dark mode, prefers-reduced-motion, and more. For example, use md:spin-in-90
to apply the spin-in-90
utility at only medium screen sizes and above.
<div class="animate-bounce spin-in-45 md:spin-in-90">

</div>

By default, Tailwind makes the entire default rotate available as animation rotations. You can customize your rotation by editing theme.rotation
or theme.extend.rotation
in your tailwind.config.js
file.
// @filename tailwind.config.js
module.exports = {
theme: {
extend: {
rotate: {
175: "175deg",
},
},
},
}
Alternatively, you can customize just your animation rotations by editing theme.animationRotate
or theme.extend.animationRotate
in your tailwind.config.js
file.
Learn more about customizing the default theme in the theme customization documentation.
If you need to use a one-off animation rotation value that doesn’t make sense to include in your theme, use square brackets to generate a property on the fly using any arbitrary value.
<div class="spin-in-[175deg]">
