map_index_template for pythonoperator

Hi, I have been trying to use map_index_template with pythonoperator but it has not worked successfully so far. Looking at the code here https://github.com/apache/airflow/blob/main/providers/src/airflow/providers/standard/operators/python.py, seems its not supported as we do not take it as an argument to pass it to super class. Is my understanding correct? Has anyone been able to use map_index_template with pythonoperator?
