tooltip jumps between series

Description

Steps to Reproduce

1. Open the following chart: https://codepen.io/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx-/pen/PwYzqbm
2. Move your mouse continuously from the left of the chart to the right

Expected Behavior

The tooltip moves from the first (leftmost) data point, to the second, to the third, ... until the last.

Actual Behavior

The tooltip jumps around between points and series, displaying data from points that are actually not being hovered.
