As already described in #4016 the current framework (AngularJs) is outdated and its LTS will end December 31, 2021 (https://blog.angular.io/stable-angularjs-and-long-term-support-7e077635ee9c).

The best idea is to switch from AngularJs to Angular. Although I think we should not limit ourselves to Angular and explore other options as some comments in #4016 suggest.

I suggest before working on this issue the PMC should make a decision what framework to use and why. Not that someone works on resolving this issue, which a certain framework, and later can not be used because of the community decision.
