[Feature Request] Select-by-Type in the current View

Description

A selection service working on the elements of the current View with the possibility to limit the selection to one or more element type (e.g. select all the Application Component elements in the current view). Today there is a selection feature under the Edit menu item in Find/Replace item, but there is no possibility to define element type(s) here.

Not sure I understood well the purpose.
I usually do this by scripting.
==> With the current selection, can be extended to multiple object selection, Ii use a script that selects "all same type of object in the current view'.
Does is suits your needs ?
