Abstract:

Git is a version control system for tracking changes in computer files and coordinating work on those files among multiple people. It is one of the most important tools a student should have.
In this talk, I'll cover the basics of Git and GitHub, along with how to start contributing to open source using simple analysis and working knowledge of Git.

Pre-requisites:

  • Windows users should have Git Bash pre-installed.
  • Linux users can operate on Terminal.
  • MacOS users can also operate on Terminal.

Expected duration:

  • 60 minutes.

Level:

  • Beginner.
