Just a suggestion: Perhaps a technical talk, where a 101 teaching session is there would be much more appropriate. This helps sharing off knowledge among peers, as well giving a demonstration of skills you earned. While the aforementioned part of the talk would take at max. 10-15 minutes could possibly be conveyed to the audience at the end of the workshop.
I feel the importance of the pen needs to be conveyed first, before selling it. If you get what I am saying.
