Describe the bug
Whenever running the Bizhawk Shuffler with a copy of Bomberman Hero (N64), the video of the game will freeze entirely whenever the shuffler swaps in.
The game is still running -- the sound continues and inputs are still registered. In fact, if the player uses the menu to exit gameplay, or skips a cutscene, the video will refresh and gameplay can continue as normal. Still, it makes the game a bit unplayable if a level can't be beaten before the swap timer activates.
To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:
Put a rom of Bomberman Hero (N64) in the /games folder of the shuffler, + at least one other game.
Open Bizhawk and launch the shuffler
Wait for Bomberman Hero to swap out and swap back in
Observe the video freezing when the game swaps back into Bomberman Hero
Environment (please complete the following information):
OS: Windows 11
Bizhawk Version: 2.9.1
N64 core: Mupen64Plus
Additional context
Loading the state that the bizhawk shuffler generates while the shuffler ISN'T running will load the state without any issue at all. That feels very unusual, and makes me think it has something to do with how the shuffler is loading games?? But that's just a hunch, I truly have no idea.
Other troubleshooting I've tried includes:
-Toggling various settings within GLideN64
-Changing various Bizhawk settings including: the N64 video core, the N64 core itself, the savestate compression.
-Replacing the copy of the Bomberman Hero rom
-Installing a new fresh version of Bizhawk (the 2.10-rc that dropped just a few weeks ago)
None of this has been super thorough as I don't really know what I'm doing... mostly just flicking various switches and seeing if there's any impact or if it breaks anything. Haven't had any luck so far. So, I'm happy to try any additional suggestions or workarounds if they exist.
