Hello,
This issue is not to report any bugs. I have created it as a means of contact to know what is new in features in version 4.x vs 3.x
For example, if I compare the readme files where all the detail is supposed to be, both readmes are practically the same.
I know that, for example, the make command is now used to start and stop the containers or update to update everything, which I find very good, but I still don't know the specifications.
Will delta updates be available? Will images of the operating system be downloadable? What do I gain by going from 3.x to 4.x?

I take advantage of giving feedback on proposed functionalities that I think would be very useful if they were present: webhook or displaying the status of the devices in real time (the is_online attribute), it could be for example in an mqtt broker where the credentials are configured from the Environment Variables.

Greetings
Matias

Hello, there is a changelog, which you can parse with open source tools to generate a digest of changes.

Excuse me, but are you telling me that I have to deduce what's new by looking at the code? @ab77

@ab77 What I mean is that to understand what is new, according to those changelogs, you have to understand how openbalena works internally, there are the changes at the code level, what I want to know is at a general level, of functionalities

Will the delta update or the VPN connection to the devices be implemented? Something that is not in 3.x?

In readme it states that it have built-in VPN. About delta container images - it's in the readme as difference between openBalena and Balena.io

@KhazAkar Now I use balena 3.8.2 and it works without problems, I find it very good. I'm just saying that when I saw that version 4 was published, I thought: new version, perhaps functionalities that are not currently in openbalena will be incorporated, such as the delta update, remote access to devices......lower the differences in functionalities between openbalena and balenaCloud, because I can see the changelogs, which are all at the code level, but to understand them you have to understand the entire project...that's why I was wondering what's new in v4.

Greetings
