some technologies are still evolving. but Cobertura is not evolving at the same speed. the last contribution in this plugin was 4 years ago. this is why it can generate conflicts with the latest versions of gradle.

Describe the solution you'd like

I consider that the best decision is to deprecate or eliminate the possibility of generating the project with plugin coverage leaving only jacoco.
