Nanoleaf thread lightstrip Firmware: 1.6.49 and transition time

Hi There, I am using adaptive-lighting (current version) with 3 Nanoleaf Essential Thread lightstrips. Recently they got updated to Firmware: 1.6.49, which introduced one of my most wanted features: "Adds a gentle 0.5s ramp when turning on / off".

What I have noticed is that when adaptive-lighting is active for the lights, the ramp on/up is noticeably faster. Disable adaptive-lighting and you get a much slower/smother ramp on/up (which I think is much nicer). I have tried to change the initial_transtion from 1 to 10 to see if that changes things, but it does not. The off/down does not seem to be effective.

Is there a setting I have wrong in adaptive-lighting to change this? I also have Hue lights and the ramp on/up does not seem to be effected in the same way FYI.
