Sometimes when building with --sandbox_base=/dev/shm bazel prints this warning and dumps this stack trace:

I don't have the case right now but I don't actually think it crashed fatally here like the error suggests, I think it was just noise. It looks like a similar case was fixed here #21733 but we're using 7.1.1 and I'm still seeing this, I assume the fix made it a warning but not an error
