Description of the issue

I am trying to install bcbio as per the user manual in a WSL2 Ubuntu environment. The installation invariably fails and throws the error message copied above.

I have tried switching to Ubuntu 22.04 to 20.04, but got the same outcome.

Also, this issue seems to suggest that installing in-VM isn't supported. To check whether this is the source of my problem, I also tried to install on a proper, non-WSL Ubuntu 18.04 freshly installed - same error.

Is there any known fix for this, or, alternatively, a trusted Docker image I could use?

It looks like you've recently started having the same bug happen in your CI.

Hi,

I think is related but I don't have an option right now. probably we need to change some versions. Let me see what I find out.
