Begin - Privacy Policy

Introduction

We are committed to protecting your privacy and we encourage you to read and learn more about the terms of our privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”).

When we refer to “Beginner Corp.”, “Begin”, “our”, “us”, “we”, or similar self-referential language, we are referring to Beginner Corp., Inc. When we use the terms “you”, “your”, “yours”, “user”, “users”, “customer”, “customers”, etc., we are referring to any and all users of Beginner Corp. current and future Products and Services.

Beginner Corp. provides a variety of Products and Services to our customers, which refers to and includes our website and web applications, mobile applications, integrations for other Third Party Services (such as Slack, Facebook, etc.), and platform, as well as any future applications, products, and services. By visiting, using, or submitting information to any of our Products and Services, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy.

Terms not defined herein shall have the meaning as provided in our Terms of Service (the “Agreement”), and incorporated herein.

Data Covered in this Policy

This Privacy Policy covers our treatment of Customer Data (as defined herein) and General Data (defined herein) that we gather when you are accessing or using our Products and Services. This Privacy Policy also covers our treatment of any Customer Data that our business partners share with Beginner Corp. (for example, via integration with Third Party Services).

This Privacy Policy does not apply to the practices of companies that Beginner Corp. does not own or control, or to individuals that we do not employ or manage. In addition, this Privacy Policy does not cover how other organizations, including Third Party Services, will treat your information. If integrating our Products and Services with any Third Party Services, please refer to such Third Party Services’ privacy policy.

Customer Data

All content and information that you submit through use of our Products and Services, or that we receive via integration with Third Party Services, that personally identifies you is referred to herein as “Customer Data”.

To create an account, integrate with Third Party Services, or receive information from us about future Products and Services, we may collect such Customer Data as your name and email address. In order to process billing, we may collect such Customer Data as your home or work address, telephone number, and/or credit card information.

However, this information is on an “opt-in” basis only and we will only collect such Customer Data if you specifically and expressly provide the information to us.

General Data

In addition to the Customer Data, we may collect the following general information (“General Data” and, collectively with Customer Data, your “Data”) that does not personally identify you, including, but not limited to:

  • demographic information;
  • information from publicly accessible sources, such as blogs and comments from other users; your visit to the Site, such as pages viewed, links clicked and other similar navigation action in connection with the Site;
  • standard browser information, such as your browser type, IP address, access times, and App usage data;
  • location data, which may be available or derived from our App, Site, or your IP address; and
  • information about the device on which you are accessing or using the Services.

Data Collected Automatically

We may also automatically collect, receive and store certain information from you whenever you interact with our Products and Services. As is standard practice, Beginner Corp. may automatically receive and record information on our server logs from any devices you use to access our Products and services, including your IP address, cookie information, and data you requested.

Cookies

We use Cookies to collect non-personal data and information. Cookies are small text files used to recognize repeat users, and are typically placed on your device by a web server. Cookies contain information that can later be read by a web server in the domain that issued the Cookie to you. The way Cookie function is by assigning a unique identifier to each device that has no meaning outside of the assigning web server.

You should be aware that should any of our third-party partners use Cookies, we cannot control their use of said Cookies (or the resulting information). You have the ability to accept or decline Cookies. Most web browsers automatically accept Cookies, but you can usually modify your browser setting to decline Cookies if you prefer. If you choose to decline Cookies, you may not be able to sign in or use other interactive features of our Products and Services that depend on Cookies.

Third Party Analytics

We may use third party analytics providers and products to obtain, compile, and analyze Data for the purpose of obtaining statistics and other information about how customers are using and interacting with our Products and Services.

These analytics providers may use a variety of technologies or tools to recognize your devices and/or to collect or compile this information. While we have no control over the technologies, tools, or practices of the third parties that provide analytics products and services to us, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure that such third party analytics providers have adopted and maintain programs and procedures that are reasonably calculated for the protection of privacy and security similar to our own standards.

We will protect the privacy and security of your Data according to our Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed or stored.

Location Data

We may request permission via our App, to collect and use the Location from your device to provide contextual Data. (Example: you may want to see work-related tasks while at the office.) If you initially permit the collection of this information, you can later disable it by changing the location settings on your mobile device. Our Products and Services do not require your Location Data.

We Do Not Collect Children’s Data

Our Products and Services are intended for general audiences, and we do not knowingly collect any Customer Data from children. If a user identifies themselves as under 13 years of age, we will block such user from providing Customer Data and remove them from our systems.

Email Communications

In providing us with your email address, you authorize us to send you updates, notices and information, and notifications related to current and/or future Products and Services.

We may use customized links or similar technologies to determine whether our emails have been opened, and which links you click. This information is used solely to provide you more focused email communications and/or other information.

If you do not wish to receive e-mail from us, you may opt-out at any time, or notify us via email. (Please include sufficient information for us to identify you, including your name, email address and any other specifics of your request.)

Please note: after unsubscribing, it is possible (however unlikely) that we may still contact you via e-mail in certain administrative circumstances regarding Products or Services to which you have registered.

Use of and Disclosure of Data

Use of Data

In using and/or accessing the Services, you expressly authorize us to collect and use your Data to operate and improve our Products and Services. You further acknowledge and agree that we may, but are not obligated to, maintain copies of your Data indefinitely, or delete any or all Data, at our sole discretion.

We collect and use your Data to operate, improve, and better deliver our Products and Services. These uses may include performing analysis aimed at improving our Services, or making our Products more user friendly. We may also use your Data to communicate with you, such as providing you with mandatory or discretionary notices about our Products and Services.

We retain information so long as it is necessary and relevant for our operations.

We are headquartered in the United States of America. Data may be accessed by us or transferred to us in the United States or to our affiliates, business partners, or service providers elsewhere in the world. By providing us with your Data, you consent to this transfer. We will protect the privacy and security of your Data according to our Privacy Policy, regardless of where it is processed or stored.

Disclosure to Third Parties

We do not sell, rent, lease, or disclose your Data. Except as described in this Privacy Policy, your Data will be used only by us and our controlled subsidiaries and affiliates, and your Data will not be disclosed to any other third party without your consent.

We may hire other companies to provide limited administrative and communication services on our behalf, such as web hosting services, the processing and delivery of mailing documents, customer support, or credit card processing services. We have the right to disclose your Data to these third party companies for the purpose of administering and maintaining the features, functions, and operations of our Products and Services.

Those companies will be permitted to obtain only such Data as is absolutely necessary for them to deliver their respective services, and we do not authorize these companies to use your Data except for the sole purpose of providing those services requested by us.

Integration with Third Party Services

In order to access and/or use our Products and Services, you may be required to integrate them with your existing Third Party Services. While we do not store your passwords for these Third Party Services, we may store revokable tokens, enabling Services to communicate with each other.

If you integrate our Products and Services with a Third Party Service, we are not responsible for how such a service would use, collect, and share your Data. We very much encourage you to review privacy policy of any such Third Party Services.

Disclosure of Customer Data

You understand and agree that we may access and/or disclose Data about you without your prior consent if we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to:

  • comply with legal process or other legal requirements of any governmental authority;
  • protect and defend the rights or property of Beginner Corp. (including the enforcement of our agreements);
  • enforce the terms of the Agreement and Privacy Policy;
  • operate or conduct maintenance and repair of the Site, the App or equipment as authorized by law;
  • act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of our users or members of the public; or
  • comply with a bankruptcy, merger, acquisition, transfer of control, joint venture of other business combination.

While we are not required to question or contest the validity of any search warrant, subpoena or other similar governmental request that we receive, we will use reasonable efforts to ensure the privacy of our users, and safeguard against overreach.

Disclosure of Data in Certain Transactions

In some cases, we may choose to sell our assets. In these types of transactions, user information is typically one of the business assets that is transferred. You acknowledge that such transfers may occur, and that any acquirer of Beginner Corp. may continue to use your Data as set forth in this Privacy Policy.

Security of Customer Data

The Customer Data we collect is securely stored within our database, and we have implemented standard, industry-wide practices such as firewalls, encryption, and end-to-end encryption for protecting your information. However, as effective as encryption technology is, no security system is impenetrable. For more information, please refer to our Security Policy.

It is your responsibility to make sure that your personal information is accurate and that your password(s) and account registration information are secure and not shared with third parties.

Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information transmitted to our Website. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Website.

Accessing and Correcting Your Information

We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirements or cause the information to be incorrect.

Notice to California Residents

Your California Privacy Rights

California Civil Code Section § 1798.83 permits users of our Website that are California residents to request certain information regarding our disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an email to [EMAIL ADDRESS]. For all requests, you must put the statement “Your California Privacy Rights” in the body of your request, as well as your name, street address, city, state, and zip code. In the body of your request, please provide enough information for us to determine if this applies to you. You need to attest to the fact that you are a California resident and provide a current California address for our response. Please note that we will not accept requests via the telephone, mail, or by facsimile, and we are not responsible for notices that are not labeled or sent properly, or that do not have complete information.

How We Respond to Do Not Track Signals for California Residents

California Business & Professions Code Section 22575(b) (as amended effective January 1, 2014) provides that California residents are entitled to know how we respond to “Do Not Track” browser settings. We do not currently take actions to respond to Do Not Track signals because a uniform technological standard has not yet been developed. We continue to review new technologies and may adopt a standard once one is created.

Questions or Comments Regarding this Privacy Policy

We welcome any questions or comments you may have regarding this Privacy Policy, which should be submitted via email. We will make every effort to resolve or answer your concern in a timely manner.

Modifications to this Privacy Policy

We may modify this Privacy Policy at any time, in our sole discretion, and such modification shall be effective immediately upon either posting of the modified Privacy Policy or notifying you. Use of information we collect now is subject to the Privacy Policy in effect at the time such information is collected. Your continued access or use of our Products and Services shall be deemed your conclusive acceptance of the modified privacy policy.
