If these are general purpose functions, they could fit well. We could discuss that on a case-by-case basis. What I think goes to far, are functions that are directly involved in modelling, for example predicting structures or calculating energies. |

Biotite is a popular choice in the protein design and protein ML community. For example, biotite is used extensively in training and inference for Meta's evolutionary-scale transformer models (ESM) protein transformer models. Are there features we could add to biotite to expand its functionality to protein design workflows?

I would be interested to hear if others have thoughts about potentially adding some of these functions to biotite!
