When the user opens the app at the very first time I would not show deposit / withdraw at all, yet a "Choose Gateway" button there. The user will first get a popup explaining what a gateway is and how it is a third party and how the user enters the liability of the gateway by using a gateway asset.

User should be able to select multiple gateways and get the option to hide asset namespace if only one gateway is selected (default only one gateway, and namespace is hidden)

Which gateway is the other ETH? I'd suggest to display the asset symbol on the righter side and the asset namespace on the lefter side, marking the origin clearly. The gateway could (should) have a clickable question mark that forwards to user to the gateway website.

After choosing an asset I'd like there to be a button on the bottom "Visit Gateway" or something that provides a link to their website / terms&condition or similar

A.1)
I don’t have a strong opinion, but I remember my impressions when I just started using BitShares - I didn’t care about gateways, I just cared about trading the most liquid gateway for each particular asset.

So, by default, we suggest to offer the most liquid/sound gateway type for deposit and trading. Imo it’s better UX wise, than forcing the user to learn about gateways before, might be to much of information.

A.2)
At the moment we plan to allow user to manually select one gateway for every asset. Was thinking about ability to select multiple gateways for one asset, and couldn’t find a use case when it’s handy. In the current UI seeing multiple gateways (with gateway prefixes) for one asset is very confusing, according to feedback we collected. Do you have a strong opinion that selecting multiple gateways simultaneously is useful ?

B) As explained above in A.2 there will be just one ETH listed here, and asset gateway can be changed in the settings. But happy to follow your suggestion if you confirm that our plan is not good.

C) sure. Thanks for pointing it out.
