Your blockchain ID is your digital self and a new form of secure, convenient identification.

At first, you'll be able to present your blockchain ID when logging into applications, and eventually you'll be able to use it when asked to present identification in an in-person context (as you would with a passport or driver's license).

How It Works

First, you go to a blockchain ID registrar and sign up.

Next, you fill out the information in your blockchain ID (only what you feel comfortable including).

After that, you can verify your social media accounts, your website, and who you are in real life.

Great, now your blockchain ID is ready. You can use it to login to applications, and you can share it with others as your website, about page, or digital representation of yourself.

Security

When you sign up for a blockchain ID, your registrar will help you create a secret key. So long as you keep that key safe and prevent others from getting to it, your blockchain ID will be secure and nobody will be able to impersonate you or steal your data.

Don't worry though! Your registrar will do the hard work of keeping your key safe so that you never have to worry about it. In fact, many registrars will store your keys across your mobile and desktop devices so that even they can't get to your blockchain ID or tamper with the data. These registrars are the most secure and trustworthy, so go with them if you can.

Differences from Traditional Identification

In contrast to traditional forms of identification, your blockchain ID is not issued by a central authority, and you do not submit your information to any government or corporation.

Instead, you create your own blockchain ID (with the help of a service provider) and it is verified by a secure network of computers around the world that can't be hacked or taken down.

The Future

Blockchain ID is the future of personal security and privacy. In the future, you will not need a physical ID or keys. Your blockchain ID will be the last identification you ever need.
