Description

Follow-up to #41010.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Install and launch Brave 1.70.111 with Cr 129.0.6668.42
  2. Go to any of brave://version, brave://flags, brave://local-state, etc.
  3. Observe that results are shown in Brave search instead

Actual result

Internal webpages brave://version, brave://flags, etc. can't be loaded. The same webpage can be opened using a chrome:// instead.

The above requires 1.70.115 or higher for 1.70.x verification 👍 @Uni-verse @hffvld can use the template from brave/brave-core#25602 (comment). Please include/check any other cases that you might come up with that I missed.

Verified on Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 using version:

Brave	1.70.115 Chromium: 129.0.6668.59 (Official Build) (64-bit) 
Revision	031813a4ca3b5401db1aba5c85c164084a8d761a
OS	Android 13; Build/TP1A.220624.014; 33; REL
  • Ensured that internal pages such as brave://version, brave://flags and brave://crashes are loading without issues from the URL bar.
  • Ensured that chrome internal pages are loading without issues and clicking on links in chrome://about will open the appropriate page.
  • Ensured loading URLs without a scheme specified worked without any issues
    • facebook.com, google,com, videocardz.com
  • Ensured that loading URLs with https:// worked without any issues
    • https://cnn.com, https://brave.com, https;//zerohedge.com
  • Ensured that loading URLs with http:// worked without any issues
    • http://httpforever.com
  • Ensured that search terms within the omnibox are working as expected
