Description

I'm a big fan of vertical tabs, but they have the disadvantage of not allowing you to quickly glance at the tab names, especially since you have to wait for the tabs column to expand after you start hovering.

I think it would be nice to have an option to disable this delay, such that the tab column opens immediately on hover. I think the benefit of being able to quickly expand and glance at the tab names outweighs the risk of mis-clicking a tab instead of a UI element.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Enable vertical tabs (appears as a column on the left by default)
  2. hover your cursor over the column (notice the delay!)

Actual result

It takes ~0.5 seconds for the tabs column to expand.

Expected result

For the tabs column to expand immediately
