As a years-long user of this extension, I would like to be able to see the code that I am about to install into my browser, especially when the extension requests new access.
Right now, a new version is released before the changes are published to the repository. This approach is very suspicious and leads to false accusations, especially now, in the era of taking over the popular repositories and injecting the malicious code. This seems to me to be the root of the very recent misunderstanding #1796
