Hi, thanks for this. We have documented how to use podman with buildpacks. There's also an RFC to use podman directly, rather than through the socket.

FWIW #684 adds some text to the tutorial page linking to the podman page ("alternatively, see this page about working with podman") so that users know they can look there.
