I have the following error when building the repo
"No toolchains found in the NDK toolchains folder for ABI with prefix: mipsel-linux-android"

I ave android studio 3.2 and Java 8 Installed

Master or develop? Either way this project does NOT even use NDK. It seems to be an issue with new AS not working great with older Gradle Wrapper.
I've bumped dependencies in develop, that should help.
If you are not using NDK you could probably disable it in AS. Similar discussions in other projects:
google/filament#15
