Every now and then, the program seems to be unresponsive. It seems to happen more often on the hello-world (only worked once in 14 times!) example than the "vertex buffers" (about 50/50) example, however it still happens on both.

Hmm, that should not happen.
Any news on this issue? Does the problem still persist?
May I ask you to try the latest version of the development branch?
