ice breaker / lightning talk round of "that one trick" #26

Someone once said [1] that the most he/she learned was by "looking over the should of experienced friends or coworkers". I also think that is true [2] and think we could possibly do a

  • quick round of introductions where everybody shows "one maybe less known thing"
  • could be a shell alias or prompt or helper script,
  • or a git alias or config trick
  • or a particular editor setup
  • or a rstudio addin or shortcut
  • or tmux / screen trick for the terminal
  • or [insert YOUR awesome idea here]

Thoughts? Viable? Valuable?

[1] I can't find the reference anymore though. Sad.
[2] And for example still live by a set of git aliases picked up from a coinstructor at my very first software carpentry workshop
