I briefly looked into BOINC in the early days, but got overwhelmed with the complexity.

See this issue : marius311/boinc2docker#2 (comment)

If anyone who is more experienced with the BOINC architecture has any guidance, I'm happy to support it. GPU support certainly wouldn't be required at first. Nor is VM execution now that I have windows and mac builds working with pyinstaller/pyupdater.
