Add $VersionNumber to checking version number in Mathematica #122

The current instructions say that one can check the version number of Mathematica from the GUI. That's true, but one can also use $VersionNumber, which is more general because it can be used when running the Wolfram Kernel without the GUI, so I suggest adding it.
