Can someone confirm that the alternative way to specify a character with the alt key somehow does not work in cmder?
For example, the pipe symbol :alt + 124
Since the pipe symbol is not available on certain keywords we have to specify it with the alt code. It can be that its due to my environment but cmder does not output this pipe symbol but all other programs do. Is it somehow captured?

If you aren't able to input it into clean conemu. Then it's an upstream problem, I was going to suggest it might be clink since that does take an Alt-$whatever combination for a few cases.
