if elasticsearch is installed with homebrew, then can install as:
plugin -install mobz/elasticsearch-head
and can view the UI on http://localhost:9200/_plugin/head/
can also visit http://karmi.github.io/elasticsearch-paramedic/
helpful to view the indices without installing anything
