Cogent is really good at displaying scientific information like plots etc.

I was wondering if there is any constraints based solvers in the roadmap ?

It’s because I work with scientists and I am doing due diligence on if cogent can be a good base for them. They need constraints based solvers.

Thank you! Could you import gophersat in a Cogent Core app, give it whatever data you need from GUI input, and display the results using a Cogent Core plot?

I started going down a slightly different route ..

I was looking at how you use yaegi to generate golang code off other golang code. It seems a way to expose a golang third party package into the cogent gui ?

Like not find any docs on it and so just trying to work it it from your code still.

any tips most appreciated :)

IF it can be it working this way I will be a very powerful IDE for the scientific uses and also make development very quick.

I am thinking that cogent could be a way for them to build apps off their data , and if the so we works off dara ( like a csv ) then the cogent gui architecture should make it easy for them to change the inputs going into he third party golang package at runtime ?

Our plots and data tables support loading data from CSV (see https://github.com/cogentcore/core/blob/main/examples/plot/plot.go for an example). You should be able to add third party packages to yaegi using yaegi extract; you could make your own symbols directory similar to yaegicore/symbols, and then maps.Copy your symbols into the yaegicore symbols so that your packages can be accessed in the interactive GUI editor. We are planning to do something similar with Cogent Numbers.
